Honored to be invited to attend the unveiling of the statue commemorating Dr. Sally Ride, first woman in space
Reach for the Stars - July 4, 2023
Physicist Dr. Sally Ride will now continue to inspire young women to reach for the stars, her own mantra, from high atop a hill at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
What a treat to see this beautiful, uplifting statue unveiled! Ride’s lively sister, Dr. Bear Ride, told the audience, “Sally’s mission was not only ‘to space and back,’ but also to open young minds and hearts to the dedication that can make this planet of ours a better place for us all.” A mission being fostered also through the family foundation: ridefoundation.org.
Thanks to filmmaker Steven Barber for inviting me to attend, and for his boundless energy and dedication to making this wonderful tribute come to fruition. Thanks also to David Trulio, president and chief executive officer of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute for hosting this event, and providing important exhibits to the public.
